Income Tax Return 2025: The deadline for filing income tax returns is approaching. The government has extended the last date for filing returns from July 31 to September 15. That is, now less than 10 days are left. In such a situation, the Income Tax Department has released two mobile apps for taxpayers, with the help of which you can file your return comfortably without any hurry. This will also save time. These two apps named ‘AIS for Taxpayer’ and ‘Income Tax Department’ are available on Android and iOS platforms. It has been specially designed for salaried persons, pensioners and small taxpayers with simple income profile so that they do not face any problem in filing returns.

- You can login to the app with your PAN, Aadhaar or registered user ID and password.
- After logging into the app, you will get Annual Information Report (AIS) and Taxpayer Information Summary (TIS). These already have data from places like company, bank, mutual fund, etc. filled in, so there is no need to enter manually.
- This app helps you choose the right ITR form based on your salary, pension, capital gains and other sources of income.
- If you want, you can update the data with the help of the app, if something is missing, you can add it, such as income from fixed deposits and interest from rental income may need to be entered manually.
- After filing the return, you can get e-verification done with Aadhaar OTP, net banking or digital signature. The return gets submitted quickly and an acknowledgement is also generated.
