India Weather Updates: How much rain will be in the country in July and how long will it be hot in Delhi, IMD told

New Delhi. The India Meteorological Department said on Thursday that the southwest monsoon in the country is likely to be normal in July. “The overall monthly rainfall in the country in July 2021 is likely to be normal (94 to 106 per cent of the long period average),” the department said. Will release initially.

The department said that conditions of heat wave and severe heat wave were recorded at isolated places in Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

The India Meteorological Department said that heatwave conditions were recorded at most places over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh, North West Rajasthan and North West Madhya Pradesh. Also, severe heat wave conditions were also recorded at isolated places in the area. The department said that in North East Rajasthan also there was severe heat wave at isolated places.

It said, “Due to possible dry westerly/south westerly winds in the lower part of the atmosphere from Pakistan to northwest India, over Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Delhi, North Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and North West Madhya Pradesh for the next two days.” Heat wave conditions are likely to continue during this period.


The temperature in the entire plains has crossed 40 degree Celsius in the last few days.

Southwest Monsoon has covered the entire part of the country but Haryana, Delhi, some parts of Punjab, West Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh are still untouched by it.
