NITI Aayog member VK Saraswat has given a statement regarding the entry of Hyperloop, which travels at a high speed in India. He said that India has the ability to bring its own Hyperloop technology and the delay in this work is certain, so foreign companies should be given permits to develop this technology. Heading a committee to look into the commercial and technical possibilities of Virgin Hyperloop technology, Saraswat said regulatory mechanisms should be enacted in India as security is a major issue in hyperloop technology.

Foreign companies should be given a chance

In an interview to PTI, Saraswat said, “Hyperloop is a high speed train that runs inside a vacuum tube. We have found that there are two ways to do this. The first in this is that foreign companies should demonstrate it. And second, serious research and development should be done in this direction. Our investigation shows that India itself has the capacity to develop this technology. But this work will take a lot of time, so foreign companies should be given opportunity who can perform it in Karnataka or Maharashtra. Apart from this, Saraswat has also stressed on the matter of taking security seriously.
