If you also travel by train then this is important news for you. Indian Railways has implemented the ’10 pm rule’ for passengers. This will make the journey comfortable for the passengers at night.
But if you are watching reels on the phone or listening to songs at high volume after 10 pm, then you can get into big trouble in the train. According to the ’10 pm rule’ of Indian Railways, it is necessary to maintain silence in the train after 10 pm. Strict action can be taken against those who break this rule.
Indian Railways has clearly stated in its new guidelines that no such activity should be done after 10 pm which may disturb other passengers. The purpose of this rule is that every passenger gets good sleep and rest during the journey. It is very important to maintain peace in the train at night, because many people travel long distances and they need to sleep.
Now you must be wondering what will happen if you break this rule? According to Section 145 of the Railway Act 1989, if a passenger disturbs the peace in the train, makes noise or disturbs others, it will be considered a crime.
In such a case, the railway will first warn you or impose a fine of Rs 500 to Rs 1,000. That is, if you watch reels at high volume or talk loudly on the phone after 10 pm, then you may have to face this punishment.
According to the rules of the railways, listening to songs at high volume or playing videos without headphones is also wrong. If your behavior causes problems to other passengers, then it will come under the category of breaking the rules. The railways have clearly said that one should not talk loudly on the phone after 10 pm and should not sing or play videos without headphones. Apart from this, all the lights in the train should be turned off at night, except the night light.
These rules have been made so that passengers can have peace at night and sleep comfortably. If someone does not follow these rules, then railway employees can take strict action. For example, if you are watching reels at high volume at night and the passenger next to you complains, then you will first get a warning.
If you still do not obey, you may have to pay a fine. Therefore, keep these rules in mind while traveling in a train at night. Take care of your and others’ comfort, so that the journey is pleasant and there is no trouble.
