Significantly, IIT Delhi has updated the Run Train software of the Railways on the initiative of the Ministry of Railways. That is, now the railway employees will be able to get the correct information about the status of trains. Apart from this, the Railways along with ISRO have also completed preparations to advance the engine of the trains.
Passengers will get these facilities
1. Now railway passengers will not have to walk from home or wait for the train on the platform for hours before.
2. Now railway employees will be able to see the information of all the bogies of trains on their computer screen with a single click.
3. This software will be able to calculate the speed of the train per second and tell where the train has reached and for how long it was stopped at which station.
31 year old software changed
According to the Indian Railways, the software that is being used now is being used since the year 1990. During this, the speed of trains has increased as well as the number of trains has also increased manifold. The software currently being used in Indian Railways runs on DAS ie Disk Operating System. In this, it was very difficult to compile all the information related to trains together. So now there is a need for new software system in trains.
Real-time information system will be strengthened
It is worth noting that two years ago, the Ministry of Railways, in collaboration with ISRO, started the work of installing the device under the Real-Time Train Information System to improve train engines. And under this, this technology has also been installed in 90 percent of the engines so far. That is, now real time reporting is being done in trains running in all directions. Due to this, now passengers are getting accurate information about the time-table of trains running on different routes.
And the most important thing is that due to this, information about slow trains running during fog during the month of December to February will also be given to the passengers at the right time. Especially in trains like Rajdhani and Tejas, this will help a lot.
