Those traveling long distances by Indian Railways are about to find themselves in a tight spot. The Railways has increased ticket prices for all classes, from general to AC. This decision by the Indian Railways will now require you to pay more for tickets. However, those with passes will not be affected.
New Fares to Apply Today
As per the Indian Railways’ order, the increased fares will be implemented on all trains starting today. This decision will only affect passengers traveling more than 215 kilometers. However, the Railways stated that the fare hike will not significantly impact the pockets of ordinary passengers.

Several stations within 215 kilometers of Delhi offer relief to travelers. General ticket fares remain unchanged on routes like Agra, Mathura, Aligarh, Saharanpur, Panipat, Rewari, Alwar, Dausa, Roorkee, and Haridwar.
The Railways has also clarified that there have been no changes to the prices of local (suburban) trains and monthly season tickets. Those with monthly passes who travel between designated stations daily will not have to pay any additional fare. The Railways states that this decision aims to reduce the burden on low- and middle-income passengers, making daily travel easier for them.
