Indian Railways: Indian Railways has launched a new app called RailOne for passengers. This app brings all railway services together in one place. Ticket booking, train information, complaints, feedback, and platform ticket booking can now be done from a single app.
According to the Ministry of Railways, the RailOne app will provide all services including reserved (IRCTC), unreserved (UTS), and platform ticket booking, PNR status, train tracking, coach positioning, Rail Madad, and travel feedback, all in one place. The aim is to relieve passengers of the hassle of downloading multiple apps and provide a seamless digital experience.
Highlights of the RailOne app
There will no longer be a need for separate apps like IRCTC Rail Connect, UTS, Rail Madad, eCatering, and National Train Enquiry System. RailOne will have all these services.
There will be no need to remember different passwords for each app. RailOne will allow all services to be accessed with a single login. Passengers who already use IRCTC RailConnect or UTSonMobile will be able to sign in to RailOne with their old login.
Railway e-Wallet
This will feature a digital wallet, allowing for faster payment for tickets and other services. It will be secure through an mPIN or biometric login.
Registration and Guest Login
Registration for new users has been made very simple. The app can be accessed with just a mobile number and an OTP.
Available on both Android and iOS.
This app can be downloaded from both the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
Why was RailOne created?
Many railway services currently run on different apps—
IRCTC Rail Connect: For reserved ticket booking
UTS: For unreserved ticket booking
Rail Madad: For complaints or feedback
eCatering Food on Track: For food orders
NTES: For Train Status and Live Tracking
Managing all these apps was a hassle for passengers. RailOne will save them both time and memory space by combining them into a single platform.
IRCTC App Problems
The IRCTC app has experienced frequent technical glitches and server downtime over the past few months, especially during Tatkal booking. Many passengers have complained about this on social media and tagged Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav to share their concerns. RailOne is expected to resolve these issues.
