The Sachkhand Express (12715) runs from Nanded, Maharashtra, to Amritsar, Punjab. This train operates exclusively for religious pilgrims, traveling from Sri Hazur Sahib Gurudwara Nanded to Sri Harmandar Sahib Gurudwara Amritsar. Nanded is the resting place of the 10th Sikh Guru, Sri Guru Gobind Singh Ji, making this route very important for pilgrims. For the past 29 years, passengers have been receiving free meals on this train.
Langar is served at six locations
The Sachkhand Express covers a distance of approximately 2,000 kilometers and stops at 39 stations. Meals are served to passengers at six major stops: New Delhi, Bhopal, Parbhani, Jalna, Aurangabad, and Marathwada. The train’s stops are spaced to allow passengers to eat comfortably. The total journey time is approximately 33 hours, and passengers are provided with free breakfast, lunch, and dinner during this time.
Food Costs and Menu
The food served on the train is funded by donations received from Gurudwaras. The menu typically includes curry rice, chickpeas, lentils, khichdi, and vegetables like potato and cauliflower.
