Till now, to go to China, one had to go to Kolkata or Delhi to catch a flight. Now one can fly to Shanghai from Bihar itself. In fact, Indigo Airlines has given a special gift of international air travel to the people of four major cities of Bihar, Patna, Darbhanga, Gayaji and Purnia. From March 29, daily flight service will start from these cities via Kolkata to Shanghai, the largest city of China.

Currently, it takes approximately 30 to 32 hours for passengers to travel from Bihar to Shanghai. The starting one-way fare for a flight from Patna to Shanghai via Kolkata has been set at ₹15,999.
Journey from Patna: The total flight time from Patna to Kolkata and then to Shanghai will be 5 hours and 30 minutes. However, after arriving in Kolkata, passengers will have to wait 8 hours and 40 minutes for a connecting flight.
Time from other cities: The journey time from Darbhanga to Shanghai will be 5 hours and 50 minutes, and from Purnia, the journey time will be 5 hours and 35 minutes.
Passengers will enjoy special check-in facilities.
The biggest convenience for travelers traveling through these four airports in Bihar will be luggage. Once a passenger’s luggage is booked at Patna, Gayaji, Purnia, or Darbhanga, they will not need to pick it up anywhere in between. Passengers will receive their luggage directly at Shanghai Airport.
