Looking back, Sharma sustained the injury in a match played against the Kings XI Punjab. A few days later, he was excluded by the BCCI from the lineup of players for their Australian tour after the IPL.
About a week after, BCCI president Sourav Ganguly stated that Sharma is still injured. That same night, Sharma returned to the field to play. After the game, he said that his hamstring was fine. He continued to play for the season and led the team towards their fifth title. It was only after then that his name was added to the names in the touring party for the Australia tour Test lineup.
Kings XI Punjab’s 97-run win

In that said match which took place on September 24, K.L Rahul smashed an IPL hundred by scoring 132 off 69 balls. The result? An impressive 97-run win from KXIP.
With his impressive performance, Rahul also became the first player to score a hundred for the season. Although he may not be the one to secure the most centuries, he managed to score the most number of runs for the entire season as he scored 670 runs.
Chennai Super Kings’ performance
According to the latest cricket news on sportsadda, fans were a bit surprised to see three-time champions Chennai Super Kings fail to reach the knockouts for the first time in IPL history. They ended up in the second to the last spot of the points table with a total of 12 points after having only won 6 out of their 14 matches. They also happened to be the first team to be eliminated from the race to the playoffs.
Short run call on KXIP
A super over was held after the match against the Delhi Capitals resulted in a tie. During the said super over, a ‘short-run’ call was called by the umpire against Chris Jordan in the third ball of the 18th over. This case had been appealed by KXIP despite losing the game against DC.
Overall, this IPL 2020 wrapped up to be a really impressive one. Despite the fact that it had been held behind closed doors, fans were still able to enjoy watching the games and show their support for their favourite teams even when they are at home.
