Black smoke billowed over the city. A video of the incident is also surfacing on social media, clearly showing the Burj Khalifa behind the building where the incident occurred.
Explosion in Dubai Building
According to the AFP news agency, people nearby felt buildings shaking after the blast. The Dubai Media Office said debris from the blast caused a minor incident on the exterior of a building in central Dubai. Officials also confirmed that there were no reports of injuries.
Rescue Operations Intensify
A post on the social media platform X read, “Authorities have confirmed that a minor incident occurred at a building in central Dubai due to falling debris during a successful rescue operation. No injuries have been reported.”
According to an AFP report, sirens could be heard from the direction of Sheikh Zayed Road, the main thoroughfare in the UAE city.
