JEE Main 2025: NTA has released the admit cards for JEE Main 2025 Session 1 exam to be held on January 28, 29 and 30, 2025. Candidates who have exams on these dates can download their admit cards by visiting the official site jeemain.nta.ac.in. Candidates will be able to download the admit card by entering their application number and their date of birth (DOB). NTA has also advised the candidates to ensure that the barcode is visible on the admit card while downloading it.
NTA shifts exam center from Prayagraj to Varanasi
Meanwhile, NTA has shifted the examination centers in Prayagraj to Varanasi due to Maha Kumbh. NTA said in the official notice, ‘Requests have been received from many candidates expressing difficulty in reaching the examination centers in Prayagraj due to heavy crowd of devotees in Maha Kumbh on 28, 29 and 30 January 2025. Therefore, the examination centers of Prayagraj have been shifted to the centers in the nearest city i.e. Varanasi for these three days of examination.’
Let us tell you that the engineering entrance exam JEE Main Paper-1 is to be held on 22, 23, 24, 28 and 29 January. The exam is being held in two shifts – the first shift exam is from 9 am to 12 noon and the second shift exam is from 3 pm to 6 pm. The exam for Paper Two B Arch and B Planning will be held on January 30 from 3 pm to 6 pm.
JEE Main Paper-1 is conducted for admission to undergraduate engineering programmes such as BE, BTech in NITs, IIITs and BTech/BE in other Centrally Funded Technical Institutes (CFTIs). While JEE Main paper two is conducted for admission to B Arch and B Planning courses in the country.
There are three papers in JEE Main. It consists of Physics, Chemistry and Maths. There are a total of 90 questions in the three-hour exam. Each paper has 30 questions. Paper A has 20 multiple choice questions in each subject, while Paper B has 10 numerical questions. Now under the new pattern, section B will have 5 questions reduced from 10 and all questions will be compulsory.
How to get admission
After the completion of JEE Main exams of both the sessions, the rank of the students will be released on the basis of the best NTA score of both the sessions. Candidates securing the first 2,50,000 ranks in the JEE Main result will be eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced test. Admission to IIT is given through JEE Advanced. Only those who have at least 75 percent marks in 12th will be able to give IIT entrance JEE Advanced. Or they will be among the top 20 percentile candidates in the respective board exam.
