Jeevan Pramaan Patra: Pensioners can now submit their Jeevan Pramaan certificate from home without visiting the bank.

Life Certificate new update: Life Certificate (Jeevan Pramaan Patra) is a digital facility provided by the government for pensioners. Now, they no longer need to visit a bank or office every year to submit a life certificate. Aadhaar-based biometric verification allows this certificate to be generated online, allowing them to receive their pension easily.

Life Certificate new update: Everyone’s biggest concern after retirement is receiving their pension on time. Previously, receiving a pension required submitting a “Life Certificate” every year, and this required waiting in line for hours at the bank or pension office. This became a daunting task for the elderly and the sick. To address this issue, the government introduced the “Life Certificate,” a digital life certificate, making the entire process online and extremely easy.

What is a Life Certificate?

Life Certificate is an Aadhaar-based digital service that verifies pensioners’ identities online. It uses biometric authentication, such as a fingerprint or iris scan, and the pensioner’s certificate is then saved in a digital repository. The advantage is that the pensioner doesn’t need to travel anywhere, and the agency can directly access their certificate online.

How does it work?

Pensioners simply need to register using their Aadhaar and mobile number. After OTP and biometric verification, a ‘Praman ID’ is generated. Both the pensioner and the pension agency can then view this certificate anytime, anywhere. The pensioner also receives an SMS alert when the entire process is complete.

Where to register?

Pensioners can register directly through the mobile app or computer app. They can also register by visiting the nearest Jeevan Pramaan Center, bank, or Common Service Center (CSC). Registration is completed by providing their Aadhaar, bank details, PPO number, and mobile number.

How to register from your mobile or computer?

First, download the Jeevan Pramaan app.

Click on ‘New Registration’ in the app.

Enter your Aadhaar number, name, bank account number, pension order (PPO), and mobile number.

Click on ‘Send OTP’ and enter the OTP received on your registered mobile number.

Then, verify your Aadhaar-linked biometric identity (fingerprint or iris).

Upon submission, UIDAI will verify your information and you will receive a Jeevan Pramaan ID.

How to generate a life certificate online?

Once the Pramaan ID is created, the pensioner will need to log in to the app again using an OTP.

Select the ‘Generate Life Certificate’ option and enter your Aadhaar number and mobile number.

Click on ‘Generate OTP’ and enter the OTP received. You will also need to enter the PPO number, the agency from which you receive your pension, your name, and other relevant information.

Confirm your identity using your fingerprint and iris using your Aadhaar information.

The Life Certificate will appear on the screen, and a confirmation SMS will be sent to the pensioner’s registered mobile number.

Who will benefit?

This facility is available to all pensioners who receive pensions from the Central Government, State Government, or other government institutions. The most important thing is that you will no longer have to visit a bank or office every year to receive your pension.

Documents Required for a Life Certificate

To obtain a Life Certificate, or a digital life certificate, a pensioner must provide certain essential documents.

– An Aadhaar number

– A current and registered mobile number

– To obtain a Life Certificate online, one must first register on the government’s Life Certificate portal.

Who can obtain a Life Certificate?

Life Certificates are only for those who receive a pension. If you have retired from the Central Government, State Government, or any other government institution and receive a pension, you are eligible for this digital life certificate.
