Karnataka government sets new rules for inter-state passengers

The Karnataka government has come out with new rules for inter-state passengers.

Institutional quarantine of seven days should be practised for those coming from high-risk states like Maharashtra, Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Delhi, Rajasthan and Madhya Pradesh, followed by seven days of home quarantine. These returnees will be tested from the fifth to the seven day.



Home quarantine is encouraged for all other state returnees.



However, there are a few exceptions to institutional quarantine for categories of pregnant women, and people from the age group above 80 years, along with one attendant, health professionals, defense forces, etc. These individuals will be exempted (elaborated in SOP).
