If the farmers do not repay the loan by 31 March, then they have to pay interest at the rate of 7 percent instead of 4 percent. In view of the situation arising due to Corona epidemic, farmers have been relieved this time. If they pay the loan by June 30, then interest will be charged at the rate of 4 percent only.

Discount is available on interest
According to the Union Agriculture Ministry, KCC was provided to 1,00,78,897 farmers in 2018-19. While 1,23,63,138 KCCs were created in 2019-20. For agricultural farming, the interest rate of loans up to Rs 3 lakh taken on KCC is 9 percent. But the government gives 5 percent subsidy to the farmers. In this way, they get money at only 4 percent interest. The validity of KCC has been kept for five years.

Cheapest loan
The government has arranged for the cheapest loan for agriculture at 4 percent interest rate. That is why the Prime Minister Kisan Samman Nidhi Scheme has been linked to the KCC scheme. The form for making it has also been made available on the PM Kisan Scheme website. Farmer brothers can download the KCC form from here. It has been made free.

Who can take Kisan Credit Card

  • Kheti – Any person connected with farming, animal husbandry and fisheries can take KCC.
  •  A person who cultivates someone else’s land can also take advantage.
  • Minimum age should be 18 years and maximum 75 years.
  • When the farmer is over 60 years of age, a co-applicant will also be employed. He should be less than 60 years of age.
