With this, the sale of liquor is going to be stopped at a total of 19 places. Under the new liquor policy, the sale of liquor will be stopped at a total of 19 places including 17 cities of religious importance.
Total number of bars 460 to 470
According to the new policy released on Sunday, only drinks like beer, wine and ‘ready-to-drink’ can be consumed in ‘Low Alcoholic Beverage Bar’, in which the amount of alcohol will be less than 10 percent V / V (volume on volume). Consumption of alcohol will be completely banned in these bars. Let us tell you that all these new rules are going to be implemented in Madhya Pradesh. Let us tell you that at present there are 460 to 470 bars in entire Madhya Pradesh and an official of the Excise Department said that with the opening of these new bars, its total number will increase rapidly.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav had announced a ban on the sale of liquor after the approval of the new excise policy on January 23. Due to the ban on liquor, the state government will suffer a loss of about Rs 450 crore.
Renewal fees will increase by 20 percent
However, there will be no ban on bringing liquor from other cities and drinking it in the cities where the sale of liquor will be stopped. There is a need to make a law like the Bihar Liquor Prohibition Act 2016 to ban carrying and drinking liquor where the shops will be closed. Officials said that apart from Bihar, prohibition law is also applicable in Gujarat, while only Excise Act is applicable in Madhya Pradesh. The government statement said that under the new excise policy for the next financial year, the renewal fee of liquor shops has been increased by 20 percent.
