Ujjwala Yojana beneficiaries, the more than 10 crore poor people who have received free LPG connections since the scheme was launched in 2016, will continue to receive a subsidy of Rs 300 per 14.2 kg cylinder for 12 refills a year.
New Price of Commercial LPG

The price in Mumbai is now ₹1,835, in Kolkata ₹1,990, and in Chennai ₹2,043.50. This is the fourth increase in the price of commercial gas cylinders in three months. Industry officials say this increase follows a sharp increase in global energy prices since the military conflict in West Asia began. Despite the price increase, cooking gas prices in India remain among the lowest in comparison to neighboring countries.
On February 28, 2026, Israel and the United States declared open war against Iran and launched airstrikes. Within hours, Iran retaliated by launching missile and drone attacks on Israel. Iran also attacked several countries in the Middle East. US President Donald Trump has stated that any agreement with Iran is possible only if it surrenders unconditionally. Following this, a new and better leadership will be elected in Iran.
