Mamta Banerjee is giving cheap ration to the people of West Bengal under the Food Partner Project Scheme

The Food Partner Project Scheme was launched by West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on 27 January 2016. A target of giving rice and wheat at the rate of Rs 2 per kg was set to about 90 percent of the state’s 7 crore people through the food scheme.

After this, ration was provided in half the price from the market to 50 lakh people under the Food Partner Scheme. According to TMC, it has achieved its goal. Who benefits food partner?

Residents of West Bengal are eligible for the Food Partner Scheme. Ration card holders can apply for the Food Partner Scheme. People living below the poverty line, people living in rural areas and flood affected areas are eligible for ration scheme. If the applicant does a government job then he will not get the benefit of food partner. Drought affected people of Purulia district, Tea Garden workers and their families, cyclone affected people are eligible for the Food Partner Scheme. People who lost their land in Singur are entitled to the scheme,

homeless people of Kolkata and people living in the mountainous region of Darjeeling are eligible for the Food Partner Scheme.
