Delhi Metro: Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced the renaming of three metro stations in the capital on Sunday. She was attending a welcome ceremony for the Rezang La Martyrs’ Holy Raj Kalash Yatra held in Haiderpur village. The Chief Minister said the new station names were chosen to strengthen local identity and ensure passenger convenience.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday announced the renaming of three metro stations in the capital. The Chief Minister said that the new names of the stations have been decided keeping in mind the strengthening of local identity and the convenience of passengers.
Three Delhi Metro stations have been renamed. Pitampura Metro Station in Delhi will now be known as Madhuban Chowk. The under-construction Prashant Vihar Metro Station has been renamed North Pitampura/Prashant Vihar. The Haiderpur-Badli Mor station has also been renamed Haiderpur Village.
Upon the arrival of the Rezang La Martyrs’ Sacred Raj Kalash Yatra in Haiderpur, the Chief Minister paid homage to the martyrs. He said that this Yatra strengthens the nation’s unity and the spirit of “Nation First.” The Chief Minister said that the land of Haiderpur village feels blessed today that the sacred memories of these brave soldiers have reached here.
Earlier this week, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) closed all gates of the Red Fort Metro station as a precautionary measure after a high-intensity explosion near Gate No. 1 of the station left several people dead and many injured.
The DMRC reopened two closed gates of the Red Fort Metro station on Saturday, allowing passenger traffic to return to normal. On Sunday, all gates at the station were reopened to passengers.
