Metro Timing Change: In view of the “New Delhi Marathon 2026,” the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has decided to start metro services early on some lines on February 22nd. DMRC shared an advisory on its Instagram handle, stating that on February 22nd (Sunday), metro services on some lines will run from 3:30 AM to 6 AM at 30-minute intervals. After 6 AM, train services will operate as usual.

This service will be provided on the Yellow Line from Samaypur Badli towards Millennium City Centre, Gurugram, on the Blue Line from Dwarka Sector 21 towards Noida Electronic City and Vaishali, and on the Violet Line from Kashmiri Gate towards Raja Nahar Singh Line. According to the DMRC, metro services on all other lines will operate according to the regular Sunday timetable.

It is worth noting that renowned runners from across the country will participate in the ‘New Delhi Marathon 2026’. This marathon is held every year. This event is also known as the National Championship. Those interested in running with the country’s best runners can join the marathon this Sunday. It is worth noting that the DMRC previously started metro services on some lines at 3 am during Republic Day. On January 26th, for those attending the Republic Day parade, this service was provided every 15 minutes until 6 am. The DMRC continues to do this keeping in mind the convenience of passengers and events.

17 new interchanges will be added to this line.

The Delhi Metro’s Magenta Line is set to be the most modern corridor, featuring 65 stations, 21 interchanges, and 89 kilometers of driverless travel. Officials said on Wednesday that this extension will significantly improve cross-city connectivity in Delhi-NCR. Under the DMRC’s new plan, the Indraprastha-Indralok corridor will now be part of the Magenta Line. This line is being expanded under Delhi Metro Phase IV and V(A).

A total of 21 interchanges on the Magenta Line

This line will run from Botanical Garden to Inderlok and, once fully operational, will operate as a completely driverless metro corridor. After the completion of Phase IV and V(A) extensions, the Magenta Line will have a total of 21 interchange stations. Currently, there are four interchange stations on this line – Kalkaji Mandir, Botanical Garden, Janakpuri West, and Hauz Khas.
