New 50 Indian Currency: RBI will issue new notes of ₹ 50, will be signed by Governor Sanjay Malhotra.

New 50 Rupee Note: RBI said on Wednesday that it will soon issue new 50 rupee notes bearing the signature of Governor Sanjay Malhotra. All the 50 rupee notes issued earlier will remain valid.

New 50 Rupee Note: A big update has come regarding the 50 rupee note. Soon a new 50 rupee note will be seen in the market. In fact, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said on Wednesday that it will soon issue new 50 rupee notes bearing the signature of Governor Sanjay Malhotra.

Malhotra took charge in December 2024, replacing Shaktikanta Das. RBI said in a statement, “The design of these notes is similar to the 50 rupee notes of the Mahatma Gandhi (New) series.”

All 50 rupee notes will remain valid currency

All 50 rupee notes previously issued by the Reserve Bank of India will remain valid currency.

Know about the current 50 rupee note

It is worth noting that the size of the 50 rupee note of Mahatma Gandhi (new) series is 66 mm x 135 mm and its base color is fluorescent blue. The back of the note has a picture of Hampi with a chariot, which depicts the cultural heritage of the country.

98.15 percent of 2000 rupees notes returned

Let us tell you that it has been more than one and a half years since the 2000 rupees notes were discontinued in the country, but people are still holding these notes worth thousands of crores. Recently RBI had released an update regarding these. The central bank has told that by January 31, 2025, 98.15 percent of pink notes have returned to the banking system and still such notes worth Rs 6,577 crore are left with the people. According to RBI data till December 31, notes worth Rs 6,691 crore were present in the market. Let us tell you that on May 19, 2023, under the clean note policy, the central bank had announced the withdrawal of Rs 2000 notes present in the circulation of the country.
