New Aadhaar App: UIDAI (Unique Identification Authority of India) has announced a major digital update for Aadhaar users. A new ‘full version’ of the Aadhaar App will be launched on January 28, 2026. This update will make Aadhaar card use easier, more secure, and completely digital. Until now, the use of the Aadhaar App was primarily limited to viewing digital Aadhaar cards. However, with the release of the new full version, many new and useful features will be added. This will virtually eliminate the need for people to frequently carry a physical Aadhaar card or a photocopy of it.

This full version will feature QR code-based identity verification. This means that the person or organization will be able to instantly verify your identity by scanning the QR code. This will also reduce the risk of fake Aadhaar or incorrect information.
Facility to update Aadhaar information from home
According to UIDAI, the new Aadhaar App may also include an option to update Aadhaar information. This will allow you to manually update your Aadhaar details.
