Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister and State Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented the budget today. This budget was of Rs 7,00,020 crore. Many announcements were made in this budget, in which it was said that Mumbai will be given the gift of a third airport. Currently, Mumbai has two airports. One is operational, while the work of the other is 85 percent complete.
Maharashtra Budget 2025: The Maharashtra government has presented its budget for the financial year 2025-26. Deputy Chief Minister and State Finance Minister Ajit Pawar presented a budget of Rs 7,00,020 crore. In this budget, another airport has been announced, giving a big gift to Mumbai. At present, there are two airports in Mumbai, and after this announcement, the way has been cleared for the construction of a third airport in the country’s financial capital. Passengers are expected to get a lot of convenience from this airport.
Third airport to be built near Vadhavan port
The Deputy Chief Minister and Finance Minister of Maharashtra announced the third airport in the budget. He said that this new airport will be built near the Vadhavan port. Apart from this, the station of Mumbai-Ahmedabad bullet train will also be near this port. With this, passengers traveling by bullet train will be able to easily reach this airport and travel further. Also, Pawar also told that the Vadhavan port located in Palghar district of Maharashtra will be operational by 2030.
There are two airports in Mumbai
At present, there are two airports in the country’s financial capital Mumbai. The first of these is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA), which is located in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, and the second is Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). The construction of Navi Mumbai International Airport is going on at a fast pace and 85 percent of the work has been completed. It has also been successfully tested and is expected to be operational by the end of the year.
$1.5 trillion economy by 2047
The Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister said that the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) is being developed as a growth hub. He said that the economy of the region will reach $1.5 trillion by 2047. He also announced that the metro service will connect Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) and Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA). Apart from this, night landing facility will be started at Shirdi airport soon.
