New Amrit Bharat trains: There’s great news for rail passengers in Uttar Pradesh. Indian Railways has taken a major step toward making long-distance travel easier, cheaper, and more convenient. The Railway Ministry will soon launch nine new Amrit Bharat Express trains across the country, five of which will pass through major cities in Uttar Pradesh. This will not only strengthen the state’s connectivity but will also directly benefit millions of migrant travelers.

Amrit Bharat Express trains are being operated on routes with a high number of long-distance passengers. These trains will be a boon for people from states like Bihar, Assam, West Bengal, and Uttar Pradesh who travel to other parts of the country for employment. These trains will be non-AC, but will be equipped with modern amenities and improved coach design, ensuring a comfortable journey at low fares.

Which cities in Uttar Pradesh will the 5 Amrit Bharat trains pass through?

According to the railway announcement, 5 of the 9 Amrit Bharat trains being launched will stop at several important stations in Uttar Pradesh. These include cities like Lucknow, Ayodhya, Varanasi, Prayagraj, Gorakhpur, Basti, Sultanpur, Barabanki, Ballia, and Ghaziabad.

1. Dibrugarh-Gomti Nagar Amrit Bharat Express

This train will run from Dibrugarh in Assam to Gomti Nagar (Lucknow). This is considered a crucial route for Uttar Pradesh. The train will stop at stations like Gorakhpur, Basti, Ayodhya, Ayodhya Cantt, and Barabanki. It will be a weekly service and will directly connect Northeast India with the Awadh region. This will provide great relief to migrant workers from Uttar Pradesh working in Assam and surrounding states.

2. Howrah-Anand Vihar Terminal Amrit Bharat Express

This train, which runs from Howrah in West Bengal to Anand Vihar Terminal in Delhi, will pass through major cities in Uttar Pradesh such as Lucknow, Sultanpur, and Varanasi. This train is considered crucial for Uttar Pradesh in terms of education, trade, and employment. The train will have a total of 20 coaches and will also be a weekly service.

3. Sealdah-Banaras Amrit Bharat Express

This train, which will depart from Sealdah in Kolkata and reach Banaras (Varanasi), will run three days a week. It will directly connect Varanasi, the religious and cultural center of Uttar Pradesh, with West Bengal. This train will prove to be an excellent option for religious travelers and students.

4. Kamakhya-Rohtak Amrit Bharat Express

This train will run from Kamakhya in Assam to Rohtak in Haryana, stopping at major stations in Uttar Pradesh such as Varanasi, Prayagraj, Ballia, and Ghaziabad along the way. This will strengthen direct connectivity from Northeast India to North India.

5. Alipurduar-Panvel Amrit Bharat Express

Although this train runs to Maharashtra, its route passes through important stations in Uttar Pradesh, such as Prayagraj Chheoki and Mirzapur. This will provide Uttar Pradesh with better rail connectivity to Central and Western India.
