The Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) is preparing to introduce 50 eco-friendly 12-meter AC buses on 17 routes soon to further strengthen interstate connectivity. These buses will be operated at benchmark rates set by the Association of State Road Transport Undertakings (ASRTU).

As part of expanding interstate transport services, the DTC has already started operating electric buses on key routes from Delhi to Baraut (Uttar Pradesh) and Sonipat, Dharuhera, and Panipat (Haryana).

Which routes will benefit passengers?

In addition, to further strengthen inter-state routes, there are plans to introduce bus services on routes such as Nanaksar-Delhi-Ghaziabad Bus Terminal, Delhi-Rewari, Delhi-Karnal, Delhi-Rohtak, Delhi-Alwar, and Delhi-Jewar. This will facilitate better services for both daily commuters and regional travelers on these routes.

Buses will also be available for Vaishno Devi and Khatu Shyam

Transport Minister Dr. Pankaj Kumar Singh stated that the government is working rapidly to promote religious tourism through improved bus connectivity. As part of this initiative, new bus services are also planned to be launched from Delhi to major religious destinations such as Katra (Vaishno Devi), Khatu Shyam, and Ayodhya.

The Minister further stated that considering the large number of migrants from eastern India living in the National Capital Region, the possibility of establishing interstate bus connectivity between Delhi and Bihar is being considered. Preparations are underway to soon sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the states to launch these services and further strengthen connectivity between the two regions.
