New Digital Life Certificate: The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) will now be organizing camps across the country to facilitate the submission of digital life certificates, making the process easier for pensioners. Additionally, special arrangements will be made for pensioners over 80 years of age. Furthermore, submitting the DLC via mobile phone has now become extremely easy.
New Digital Life Certificate: There is good news for pensioners across the country. The Department of Pension and Pensioners’ Welfare (DoPPW) has announced the launch of a nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign. This campaign will be conducted in 1,600 districts and sub-divisional headquarters across the country from November 1 to November 30, 2025.
The purpose of this special camp is to provide convenient services to pensioners near their homes, so they don’t have to travel to banks or government offices. India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) and the major pension disbursing banks are collaborating on this initiative.
Special facility for super senior citizens
The government has made special provisions for pensioners who are 80 years of age or older. These senior citizens can submit their life certificates from October 1, 2025. Banks have been instructed to ensure that their branches are ready to provide this service from October onwards. The aim is to avoid requiring these elderly individuals to travel frequently during the onset of winter.
Submit your life certificate using your mobile phone
Pensioners can now submit their life certificates from the comfort of their homes using their mobile phones, simply through facial recognition. This method is particularly useful for those who are unable to travel or live in remote areas. Let’s see how you can use this facility.
Install the Required Apps
First, install the “Aadhaar Face RD” app from the Google Play Store on your smartphone. This app is issued by UIDAI and is essential for facial scanning. Next, you will need to install another app called “Jeevan Pramaan,” which is used to generate the digital life certificate.
Register Yourself as an Operator
Once both apps are installed, open the ‘Jeevan Pramaan’ app. Here, you will first need to register as an operator. Enter your Aadhaar number, mobile number, and email address, and then complete the verification process using an OTP (One-Time Password).
Face Authenticate and Submit the DLC
After operator registration, the actual process begins. After entering the pensioner’s details, the app will perform facial recognition. Before scanning, important instructions will appear on the screen; read them carefully and grant permission for the scan. Once the scan is complete, a successful DLC submission message will appear on the screen, including the certificate ID and PPO number. You can use this ID to download your certificate from the website.
