DL Rules in UP: A new system is being implemented to prevent fraud in making driving licenses in Uttar Pradesh. Under the new rule, the applicant will have to provide proof of being alive for a learner’s driving license.
There is a stir due to licenses being made in the name of the dead
Two-three months ago, a dead person named Rajkumari Verma got a learner’s license in Lucknow, which caused a stir in the transport department. After this, efforts have been started to make the license process more strict.
The license process is strict to prevent fraud
NIC was instructed to update the Sarathi portal in such a way that licenses cannot be made in the name of dead people. For this, efforts are being made to make the license system foolproof.
The applicant will have to smile in front of the camera
Now those applying for a learner’s license will have to first smile and blink in front of the camera. This will ensure that the applicant is a real person and no fraud is taking place.
During the test, the response has to be given in 30 seconds
Even during the test, applicants have to respond in 30 seconds, otherwise the software will consider it as an answer given through picture. This new process will increase transparency in the process.
Aadhaar card authentication mandatory
The Transport Department is also making Aadhaar card authentication mandatory for learner’s license. This will make it easier to verify identity and reduce the chances of fraud.
Preparation for biometric system
Preparations are also being made to implement the biometric system. Now applicants will have to use a biometric device when applying for a license from home
What to do if there is no biometric device at home
Those who do not have biometric devices can go to the Public Service Centre or RTO office and complete the biometric process required for the license.
The problem with face matching
Many applicants are facing problems in face matching on the Sarathi portal while sitting at home, due to which they have to visit the RTO office, the Transport Department is also trying to solve this problem.
The license process will become more simple and secure
The ARTO of the Transport Department says that with this new system, only licenses will be issued for living persons. In the coming time, more improvements will be made in the driving license process, so that the process can become simpler and safer.
