Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link Project (USBRL) “National Project” was announced in 2002. Under this, a railway line has been constructed to connect Kashmir valley from Udhampur to Baramulla. Right now trains are running from Katra only. But now trains are going to come till Delhi.

According to the Ministry of Railways, a parcel train is being run daily from Budgam in the Kashmir Valley. The first train is reaching Budgam in the capital Delhi on September 13. This will enable fresh apples from the Kashmir Valley to reach the capital. No direct train is running yet. For the first time, a direct regular parcel train is going to run from the valley.

The train has left from Budgam

Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has given information in a tweet in this regard, according to which today the parcel train has left for Delhi carrying fresh apples from the orchards of Kashmir. This is being considered a big step of the Railways after the start of the Jammu Srinagar rail line.

Regular train will run

According to the Ministry of Railways, from September 13, this train will run as per the regular schedule, which will go till Adarsh ​​​​Nagar station. While people will be able to get fresh apples from this big step of the Railways, the apple gardeners of Kashmir will also get direct benefit.

Specialty of this route

The biggest specialty of the railway track in Kashmir valley is that the world’s tallest arch Chenab Bridge and the cable-stayed Anji Bridge also fall on this route. Also, many long tunnels have been built in it, due to which the journey becomes special.
