New Expressway: Work on the Ganga Expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj is nearly complete. Only six percent of the work remains on the Unnao-Haldwani section of the third section of the expressway. The entire expressway, including the Meerut-Badaun section, is ready for operation. The 594-km expressway from Meerut to Prayagraj includes a total of 1,498 major structures. Work on 1,497 of these structures has been completed.

The first sector, from Meerut to Badaun, spans 129 km. Work on all of these, including Simbhaoli, has been completed. According to UPDA officials, the trial run will be completed in the first week of December. Following the final testing, the Prime Minister will inaugurate it on January 15th. Fighter aircraft landing structures have been constructed at five locations on the expressway, which can be used in emergency situations.

The state will receive a new highway to Prayagraj in the form of the Ganga Expressway in the coming year. Construction of this 594-kilometer expressway will be completed in November. Its completion will accelerate the industrial development of Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh, and Prayagraj. Industrial corridors are being built on both sides of the expressway.

This will provide a more convenient route for people to travel between the two ends of the state. The Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority (UPEIDA) is finalizing the expressway. 7,453.13 hectares of land has been acquired for this ₹36,230 crore project. It is currently being extended to Haridwar.

The normal speed of vehicles on this six-lane expressway will be around 120 kilometers per hour. A 3.5-kilometer airstrip for fighter jets has also been completed in Jalalabad, Shahjahanpur, along the expressway. Three more such sites are in the pipeline.
