Greater Noida: Following the inauguration of the Noida International Airport (NIA), UPIDA has now accelerated the construction process for the Link Expressway. This expressway will connect the Yamuna Expressway to the Ganga Expressway, ensuring easy and rapid connectivity to the Noida Airport. UPIDA is set to prepare the Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the Link Expressway by May and submit it to the government for approval. Consequently, construction work is expected to commence shortly thereafter.
New Expressway to Enhance Connectivity
The Noida International Airport was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on March 28. Preparations are underway to commence flight operations at the airport starting in mid-April. The Link Expressway is being constructed to ensure passenger convenience and save travel time for those accessing the airport.
Ganga Expressway: From Meerut to Prayagraj
The Ganga Expressway is another ambitious project undertaken by the government. It runs directly from Meerut to Prayagraj, connecting several districts across Western and Central Uttar Pradesh. By linking the Yamuna Expressway with the Ganga Expressway, the Link Expressway will provide a convenient route for travelers heading to the Noida Airport. Furthermore, this expressway is set to boost regional development and economic activity.
Technical Specifications of the Link Expressway
The Link Expressway will have a total length of 74.3 kilometers, with a designated width of 120 meters. The section passing through Gautam Buddha Nagar will span 20 kilometers, while the segment traversing Bulandshahr will cover 54.3 kilometers. The route will pass through Syana in Bulandshahr and connect with the Ganga Expressway near the Film City in Yamuna City.
Project Approval and Significance
The Link Expressway is a project under the aegis of UPIDA (Uttar Pradesh Expressways Industrial Development Authority), and it has already received in-principle approval from the government. This project is poised to ensure significant time savings and convenience for people traveling to the Noida Airport from various districts across Western Uttar Pradesh.
Impact on Connectivity
The completion of this expressway will not only bolster connectivity to the Noida Airport but also facilitate seamless regional development, tourism, and traffic flow.
