New Expressway Update: The journey between UP’s capital Lucknow and the industrial city Kanpur is now going to be fast and comfortable. This distance can be covered in just 1 hour. Important information has come to light regarding this. It is expected that the Lucknow-Kanpur Expressway will be completed by December 15. The Defense Minister’s advisor had sought a report from NHAI in the presence of District Magistrate Vishakh ji in this regard. In response, NHAI said that some work is left which will be completed in the first or second week of December. After this, preparations can be made for the inauguration.
According to the information, most parts of Kanpur Expressway have been constructed or are in the final stage. The low tension line of the electricity department is yet to be removed near Scooter India on the Lucknow border. The work of removing it will start from September 14. The work of installing monopoles has been started. Apart from this, the final stage work is pending in some patches which will be completed by December. After this, before December 15, it will be confirmed in the trial run that there is no shortcoming left.
What is the specialty of the expressway?
It is expected that by the end of December or the first week of January, vehicles will start running on the Kanpur Expressway. The Kanpur-Lucknow Expressway aims to make travel between the two major industrial and administrative capitals of Uttar Pradesh faster and easier. It is under construction on NSH 27. The project cost is around Rs 4,700 crore. The total length of the expressway is 63 km, which will start from Shaheed Path and reach the ring road of Kanpur.
Can be expanded up to 8 lanes
At present, this expressway is six lanes, which has been built in such a way that it can be expanded to eight lanes in the future. It will be completely access-controlled, that is, no vehicle will be able to enter it from anywhere. NHAI also informed that the problem of cuts and black spots in front of BBD on Ayodhya Road is being resolved. Two motorable underpasses will be built here. With this, not only pedestrians but also small vehicles will be able to go from one side to the other. At present, there is often a traffic jam at this point. Also, crossing the road is a big risk. Accidents happen often.
