Once this expressway is operational, the journey from Delhi to Dehradun will be reduced to just 2.5 hours. Currently, it takes approximately 6 hours for vehicles to reach Dehradun from Delhi.
According to media reports, preparations are underway for vehicular traffic on this expressway to begin in February. According to NHAI officials, most of the construction work on the expressway has been completed, and work on the remaining portion is progressing rapidly. Once it opens, the distance and travel time between Delhi and Dehradun will be significantly reduced.

The Delhi-Dehradun Expressway is an access-controlled greenfield project being developed by the National Highway Authority of India (NHAI). Its total length is approximately 210 kilometers. This expressway directly connects Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Uttarakhand. The expressway route starts from Delhi and goes to Dehradun via Baghpat, Shamli, Saharanpur, and Haridwar. Several elevated sections, flyovers, and modern interchanges have been constructed along the route.
