Adverse Impact on Global Supply
Oil and gas supplies have been severely disrupted due to the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran. India imports a significant portion of its gas requirements from the Gulf nations. Recently, several vessels carrying LPG have successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz. However, if the situation does not return to normalcy, the country will face a major challenge on the front of gas supply.
The government has issued directives to oil companies to ramp up LPG production.
