Delhi Metro Good News: The Delhi Metro has officially commenced construction on the much-anticipated Lajpat Nagar-Saket G Block corridor of Phase IV. The first test pile and groundbreaking ceremony for this Golden Line-11, which will completely transform connectivity in South Delhi, was held near Pushpa Bhawan near Saket. Senior officials, including Dr. Vikas Kumar, Managing Director (MD) of the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), and the team from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL), which is overseeing the construction, were present. This is the first new section in Phase IV where actual civil work has commenced after the primary corridors and is considered a major milestone in the expansion of the Delhi Metro network.
New Connectivity Map: 8 Stations, Elevated Corridor
The entire corridor from Lajpat Nagar to Saket G Block will be elevated, with a total of 8 stations being constructed. From busy residential areas of South Delhi like Greater Kailash-1, Saket, Pushp Vihar to several schools and government offices, this new route is going to make the travel of lakhs of commuters faster, easier and smoother every day.

Lajpat Nagar to Become a Triple Interchange Hub
The new corridor will connect three major lines. With this linking, Lajpat Nagar will emerge as Delhi’s premier “triple interchange station,” making the metro network in the southern part of the city extremely accessible and interconnected.
Lajpat Nagar: Interchange with Violet and Pink Lines
Chirag Delhi: Interchange with Magenta Line
Phase IV Expands
This corridor will play a key role in DMRC’s Phase IV expansion. The other two routes, Indralok-Indraprastha and Rithala-Narela, are also progressing rapidly, with tendering and preliminary construction underway. With Phase IV, DMRC is striving to transform Delhi’s urban mobility and elevate the capital’s metro network to a new level.
