New Metro Rail Project: The Madhya Pradesh government has approved the consultancy fee for preparing the detailed project report (DPR) of the Ujjain-Indore-Pithampur Metro Rail Project. In the first phase, this line will be extended from Shri Mahakaleshwar Ujjain to Lavkush Chauraha, Indore and in the second phase from Lavkush Chauraha to Pithampur. This decision was taken in the cabinet meeting held at the ministry last Tuesday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav. According to the news, the consultancy work has been assigned to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited at the rate of Rs 9 lakh per km (including GST).
Nearby suburbs will also be connected
According to ANI news, Urban Development and Housing Minister Kailash Vijayvargiya said that the state’s metro project is not limited to Indore and Bhopal only, but through this the nearby suburbs will also be connected. He said that our metro project is very big, which is not only for Indore and Bhopal, but also to connect the surrounding areas. However, it may take 20 to 25 years to complete this entire network, but we have started the work.
When will the metro start running
The minister says that the survey of Indore-Ujjain and Indore-Pithampur route is going on. It is expected that in the next four to five years, metro service from Pithampur to Ujjain can start via Indore. Along with this, the minister informed that there is a plan to start metro service from Indore to Dewas as well. If possible, the metro project will also be extended from Indore to Dhar. For this, a traffic survey will be done and the metro will be expanded further considering the possibilities.
