In this sequence, Noida Metro Rail Corporation (NMRC) has issued a tender for the topography survey of the line from Sector-142 to Botanical Garden.
NMRC officials said that this route will be a link route of the Aqua Line Metro running from Sector-51 to Greater Noida Depot.
The topography survey will determine the height, depth, shape and location of the ground based on which the drawing design of the route will be prepared. This investigation is a crucial process in metro projects that assesses the condition of soil, rock and groundwater to ensure safe and efficient construction of underground or elevated structures. It provides engineers with the data required to design foundations, tunnels and other infrastructure components based on the characteristics of the ground. Additionally, the agency will prepare a comprehensive report detailing the classification of soil and rock, analyse the test data and recommend suitable foundation types for the proposed elevated corridor.
The new route will be 11.56 km
The report will highlight the design calculations, design criteria and methodology and classify the various soil levels that came up during the study. The agency will have to complete the field work within 60 days from the date of assignment of the work. Permission will be taken from the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on this drawing. After getting the permission, if the central government also approves the DPR of this route, then NMRC will issue a tender to start its construction. The UP government has already approved the DPR of this route. Officials said that this route will be 11.56 km long. After the work on this route starts, it will be completed in about five years.
The old route is 29 km long
At present, NMRC is operating the metro on the Aqua Line from Sector-51 to Greno Depot. This route is 29.707 km long. This station is near Sector-52 station of the Blue Line running between Noida-Delhi. Due to lack of direct connectivity between these two stations, people have to get down from the stations and walk 300-400 meters.
