The Haryana government has approved the extension of the Gurugram Metro to Bhondsi, which will accelerate the development of the area. M/s. RITES has been appointed as the consultant and preliminary work has begun.
New Metro Station: Residents of the Bhondsi area are delighted to learn that the Haryana government has approved the extension of the metro network in Gurugram southward to Bhondsi. They said the extension to Bhondsi will boost the area’s development.
On Tuesday, the Assembly was informed that M/s RITES has been appointed as the consultant for the project, and the initial process has begun. After Bhondsi, the project is expected to be extended to Sohna. Residents thanked MLA Tejpal Tanwar and Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini for the proposal to extend the line to Bhondsi.
Decision on Sohna Connectivity
On Tuesday, MLA Tejpal Tanwar raised a question in the Assembly regarding this issue. He demanded extension to Sohna. The government stated that a decision on Sohna connectivity would be made based on a feasibility report. This extension is crucial for future residential and commercial development.
MLA Tejpal Tanwar stated that the Haryana government’s Assembly session is underway. Citing the residential and commercial development in the Sohna area, he demanded a metro project in Sohna. Social Justice and Empowerment Minister Krishan Kumar Bedi had announced the launch of the metro project from Gurugram to Bhondsi.
The MLA stated that Sohna is growing rapidly. With the development of IMT Sohna and the surrounding residential areas, Sohna is emerging as an important development center. The rapidly growing population and industrial activity in the area require better transportation infrastructure. Therefore, the metro should be extended to Sohna.
