Patna Metro News: PM Modi will inaugurate the Patna Metro. Bihar Urban Development Minister Jiwesh Kumar said that initially there will be fewer stations, but more will be added later. Only six days remain in this month.
Patna Metro News: The metro will start running in Patna in the next six days. People who have been waiting for a long-awaited metro ride can now enjoy it. Passenger service will begin with the inauguration. Initially, it will operate only between a few stations. However, the government will add and operationalize new stations to the network every month. The Patna Metro is a project worth approximately 14,000 crore rupees. The state and central governments are contributing 20% each. The remaining funding has been received from the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
When will the metro run in Patna?
Jivesh Kumar, Urban Development Minister in the Nitish Kumar government and a BJP leader, has stated that the metro will start running in Patna in September. Only six days are left in the month of September. Jivesh Kumar said that it is likely that PM Modi will visit Bihar to inaugurate it on Saturday or Sunday, or at least on September 29th or 30th. On September 15th, the PM inaugurated the Purnia Airport.
PM Modi to inaugurate
Urban Development Minister Jiwesh Kumar told reporters, “Initially, operations will begin at a few stations. After that, the number of stations will be increased every month.” Metro train trials were conducted on September 17 and September 7, when the train ran from New Patliputra Bus Terminal (ISBT) to Bhootnath station. On September 17, the train was run at a speed of 40 kilometers per hour, conducting track and other technical tests. A trial run was conducted at the depot on September 3.
Will run first on the second corridor
The metro will first run on the second corridor of the Patna Metro project, named the Blue Line. Once all 12 stations on the Blue Line route are operational, the metro will run from Patna Junction to ISBT. The Blue Line has stations at Patna Junction, Akashvani, Gandhi Maidan, PMCH, Science College, Moinul Haq Stadium, Rajendra Nagar, Malahi Pakadi, Khemnichak, Bhootnath, Zero Mile (Mile), and ISBT.
Stations on the Red Line Corridor
The Red Line corridor will run between 14 stations, from Danapur Cantt to Khemnichak. Stations on the Red Line will be located at Danapur Cantt, Saguna Mor, RPS Mor, Patliputra, Ruknpura, Raja Bazar, Zoo, Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan, Patna Junction, Mithapur, Ramakrishna Nagar, Jaganpura, and Khemnichak. Patna Junction and Khemnichak stations will be interchange stations for both lines, allowing passengers to switch between lines.
