Starlink Service: If you are also planning to get a Starlink connection, then let us tell you that a government document will be required for this. What will that document be and why will it be needed? Let’s know about it in detail.
New Starlink Service: Elon Musk’s company Starlink has got approval to start satellite based internet service in India. With the help of Starlink satellite, it will provide high speed internet in those areas where there is no mobile tower or broadband internet connection. If you are also planning to get Starlink connection, then let us tell you that a government document will be required for this. That document will be your Aadhar card. For this, Starlink has also partnered with UIDAI. Let us know in detail what will be required to get Starlink connection.
Aadhaar will become your identity
An official statement has come from Starlink that the company has got the facility of Aadhaar authentication from UIDAI. This means that any customer who wants a Starlink connection can get his connection by doing e-KYC through Aadhaar only. This will not only speed up the entire process but will also make it more secure. According to reports, the government estimates that at present Starlink has the capacity to add about 20 lakh customers in India. Aadhaar e-KYC will make the process of providing connection to Starlink easier. Also, it will be easier for the government to ensure that all the rules are followed.
Starlink’s agreement with UIDAI
For this, Starlink has signed an agreement with UIDAI in the presence of many big leaders. On this occasion, Starlink was approved as Sub-Authentication User Agency and Sub-eKYC User Agency. The government believes that this move symbolizes the combination of “India’s trusted digital identity” and “global satellite technology”.
Will work with Indian companies
It is worth noting that Starlink is not going to work alone in India. The company has joined hands with two big telecom companies of India, Bharti Airtel and Reliance Jio. The company has done this to reach the customers as soon as possible. Actually Jio and Airtel are two established telecom companies of India, which hold most of the telecom market of India. Starlink has chosen to work with these two players instead of competing with them, which seems to be a profitable deal for everyone from a business point of view.
How much speed will you get?
Recently, Union Minister Chandra Shekhar Pemmasani had said that Starlink can provide internet speeds of up to 200 Mbps to customers in India. The government believes that this facility will not have any negative impact on the existing telecom operators of the country like Jio, Airtel or BSNL. This will not affect the market of Jio and Airtel and Starlink will also be able to find its way. Minister Chandra Shekhar Pemmasani had also said about Starlink that “Starlink is allowed to provide service to only 20 lakh customers. In such a situation, the existing telecom companies will not suffer any loss due to limited customers and the limit of 200 Mbps speed.” Let us tell you that internet facility is still not available properly in many rural and remote areas of India. In such a situation, Starlink will be able to find its customers in those areas.
