The blast occurred in an i20 car…
CCTV footage released after the blast shows the suspect driving a Hyundai i20. The same car was involved in the Monday evening blast near the Red Fort Metro station, killing eight people and injuring several others. According to reports, Dr. Mohammad Umar, a suspected terrorist from the Faridabad terror module who had been on the run for the past few days, was seen inside the car just before the blast.
Sources told India Today that Mohammad Umar was in the car and is believed to have planned the attack with two of his associates. The attack was carried out in panic following the arrests in Faridabad on Monday.
Umar, along with his associates, planted a detonator in the car and carried out the terrorist attack. Investigators have confirmed that ammonium nitrate fuel oil was used in the high-intensity blast that occurred on a busy evening when this popular tourist spot was packed with people.
