Gurugram Police has taken a major step towards making the city’s traffic system more efficient, transparent, and technology-based. Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora inaugurated the new and updated version of the Traffic Control Room located at the Traffic Tower on Wednesday. A state-of-the-art video wall has been installed in this room, allowing live monitoring of CCTV cameras installed at major intersections and roads in the city.
All Facilities Available in One Place
Previously, for live traffic feeds and information, one had to go to the GMDA’s Integrated Command and Control Center. Now, all facilities will be available in one place. By viewing real-time footage on the video wall, police will be able to respond immediately to traffic jams, accidents, or other needs.
Police Commissioner Vikas Kumar Arora said during the inauguration that with the help of technology, enforcement of red light violations, traffic rules, and challaning will be made more stringent and transparent. When issuing challans online, the live status of the relevant location will be visible on the video wall, eliminating any disputes and ensuring fair decisions.
