The BHIM app now has a new biometric feature, allowing users to make payments of up to ₹5,000 using just their fingerprint or face lock, without entering a UPI PIN. Users will now be able to make UPI payments of up to ₹5,000 using their mobile’s fingerprint or face lock.
New UPI Payments System: A new biometric feature has been added to the BHIM app, allowing users to make payments of up to ₹5,000 using just their fingerprint or face lock without entering a UPI PIN. Users will now be able to make UPI payments of up to ₹5,000 using their mobile’s fingerprint or face lock. This service will not only make transactions faster and easier, but will also enhance security.
With this feature, there will no longer be a need to enter a UPI PIN for every small payment. People often forget or enter the wrong PIN, resulting in payment failures. This new feature will make payments faster, easier, and more reliable.
This feature will work on both Android and iOS devices that support fingerprint or face recognition. Users can use it to send money to friends or family, make payments by scanning QR codes, and perform online transactions.
This feature is also very strong from a security perspective. Fingerprint and face data are unique to each individual and are stored on the mobile device, reducing the risk of fraud. However, entering the UPI PIN will still be required for transactions exceeding ₹5,000.
How to Get Started
To activate this feature, users must open the BHIM app, go to their profile, select their bank account, and enable the biometric transaction option. After this, they will be able to easily make payments using their fingerprint.
