Noida International Airport Corridor News: A corridor will be constructed to improve connectivity at Noida International Airport. The plan has been approved.
Manish Singh, Greater Noida: A plan to improve road connectivity to the Jewar International Airport in Noida, Uttar Pradesh, is underway. Plans have been prepared. The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs (CCEA), led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has approved the connectivity project. A revised cost of ₹3,630.77 crore has been approved for road connectivity to the Noida International Airport in Jewar, Greater Noida. This project will provide faster and direct access to the airport.
The CCEA approved a cost of ₹3,630.77 crore for a 31.42-kilometer road corridor to the Jewar International Airport. This project will include an 11-kilometer elevated section. The Haryana government will spend ₹450 crore on the project. This project will connect Delhi-Faridabad-Sohna to Jewar. The corridor will be linked to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and the Dedicated Freight Corridor. Passing through the Faridabad Master Plan areas, it will promote logistics and economic development.
Corridor Route:
The Noida Airport Corridor will be 31.42 kilometers long. It will originate from the Delhi-Faridabad-Ballabhgarh-Sohna section of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway and reach Jewar Airport. It will provide direct, high-speed connectivity to cities like South Delhi, Faridabad, and Gurugram.
Approximately 11 kilometers of this project will be developed as an elevated corridor. This elevated section will cost an additional ₹689.24 crore (₹450 crore). The Haryana government has agreed to contribute ₹450 crore (₹450 crore).
Connectivity to Three Expressways
This corridor will connect to the Eastern Peripheral Expressway, Yamuna Expressway, and Dedicated Freight Corridor, enhancing transport and logistics capacity. The road will pass through high-density urban areas of the Faridabad Master Plan 2031. This will boost regional economic development. Strengthened connectivity will facilitate freight and travel. Passing through densely populated areas like Faridabad will boost the local economy.
Aerodrome License Received
Jewar Airport has received its aerodrome license from the aviation regulator (DGCA). Operations are expected to commence soon, making this connectivity project even more strategic. The license has cleared the way for the airport to become operational, providing a boost to regional traffic and development. On Tuesday, a team from the Noida International Airport Authority met with officials in Lucknow.
