NSE Holidays 2025: The festive season is underway, and Diwali will be celebrated across the country next week. Holidays have been announced for this purpose. The stock market will also be closed on this day. Trading will be suspended on both the major stock exchanges, BSE and NSE.

However, Muhurat trading will be permitted, and the timings for this have been finalized. The stock market will be closed for four days in the coming week. Full details regarding the stock market holidays are provided below.

When is the stock market closed?

The Indian stock market will be closed on October 21 (Tuesday) due to Diwali and Lakshmi Puja. There will also be no trading on October 22 (Wednesday) for Diwali Balipratipada. The stock market will be closed on October 25 (Saturday) and October 26 (Sunday) due to weekly holidays. This means the stock market will be open for only three days throughout the week. Additionally, the Multi Commodity Exchange will be closed on October 21 and 22 due to Diwali.

When will Muhurat Trading take place?

On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, October 21, 2025, has been set for Muhurat Trading on the NSE and BSE. Investors can engage in Muhurat Trading from 1:45 pm to 2:45 pm on October 21. The pre-open session is scheduled from 1:30 pm to 1:45 pm. Muhurat Trading is considered auspicious for investors.
