At the time, OnePlus stated that this would help share resources and speed up product development, while the brand remained independent. However, fans received mixed reactions to that change. The Disintegration of OnePlus: A Silent Decline Behind the Scenes
According to Android Headlines, several warning signs point to OnePlus facing serious difficulties. The report states that global shipments will decline by more than 20% in 2024, from approximately 17 million units to between 13 and 14 million.
The situation appears even worse in India and China, which account for nearly three-quarters of OnePlus’ global shipments.
The report, citing IDC data, shows that OnePlus lost 32.6% of its market share in India, dropping to just 3.9% in 2024. The brand also failed to meet its growth targets in China. Instead of expanding, its market share declined from 2% to 1.6% in 2024, according to the report.
