Smartphone maker OPPO India announced on Wednesday that the latest launch Oppo Reno 6 series has been tested on Jio’s 5G network, which was made available by Jio 5G Labs. According to the company, very good results have been obtained during the trial. However, the company has not disclosed the figures. According to Tasleem Arif, Head of Research and Development, Oppo India, the trial with the Oppo Reno 6 series is part of our research to better develop 5G for use by Indian customers. The trial of Reno6 series devices on Jio’s standalone 5G network reflects our commitment to continuously work towards providing cutting edge technology to our customers.
The Reno6 Pro smartphone supports 11 5G bands, while the Reno6 uses 13 5G bands. All these efforts reflect the fast growing company’s move towards developing the 5G device ecosystem in India. The standalone architecture is the mainstream architecture of the future 5G network. The company is setting up a foundation for 5G innovation labs in India. At present, most of the 5G testing in India is being done on the non-standalone model. However, OPPO has developed a solution for the stand-alone platform, which means that the testing device will come with an authentic 5G setup.
