A video of a Pakistani army general has sparked outrage online. In the video, Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, Pakistan’s Director General of Inter-Services Public Relations and military spokesman, appears to wink at a female journalist and is rapidly going viral on social media.

According to reports, the viral video is allegedly from a press conference. At the press conference, female journalist Absa Komal was asking General Chaudhary questions about former Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan. The journalist said, “Today you said that he (Imran Khan) is a threat to national security, is anti-national, and is acting at the behest of Delhi. How is this different from before, or should we expect any further developments on this?”

In a humorous response to this serious question, the General said, “And let’s add a fourth point: he is also a ‘mentally ill person.'” He then smiled and winked at the journalist, a video of which went viral on the internet. However, Live Hindustan cannot independently verify the authenticity of the video.

Angry People

As soon as the video of the Pakistani general went viral, users were outraged. People expressed surprise at how a person in uniform could act like this in public. One user wrote, “He’s trying to be cool. He doesn’t know that no one takes him seriously.”

Another user wrote, “This shows how unprofessional their army is. How can someone in uniform wink at someone like that in public?” Another added that if people like this are generals in the Pakistan Army, it’s no wonder their country is in such a state.
