PAN Card: Frauds are on the rise these days. Many times people are getting fake loans in their name without their knowledge. Since PAN card is required for every financial transaction, there is a possibility of fraudsters misusing it. If you want to know if someone has taken a loan on your PAN card or not, there is an easy method.
For that, you need to check your credit report (CIBIL score report). This report contains details of all the loans and credit cards in your name. If you find any loan that you did not take, immediately contact the bank or the company that gave the loan and complain.
How to get a credit report?
- Go to the websites of credit bureaus like CIBIL, Experian, Equifax or CRIF High Mark.
- Enter your PAN card number, mobile number and other required information.
- Verify through OTP.
- Your complete credit report will appear on the screen.
- You can check this report to see if there is any fake loan on your PAN card or not.
What to do if you have a fake loan in your name?
If you see a loan on your credit report that you did not take, first inform the bank or financial institution that gave the loan immediately. Also, file a complaint with the credit bureau (e.g. CIBIL, Experian) that provided this information. Most credit bureaus allow you to file a complaint online. For this, you will need to provide a copy of your ID, details of the fake loan, and an affidavit.
Along with this, also file a complaint with the cyber crime cell of the nearest police station with evidence of misuse of your PAN card. This will keep your name safe from future problems.
