New Delhi: Fog has wreaked havoc across the country, severely disrupting traffic. In light of the dense fog and low visibility disrupting flight operations, the Ministry of Civil Aviation has issued a strict advisory for airlines. According to a TOI report, the ministry has directed all airlines to strictly adhere to passenger safety regulations.
Provide refunds in case of flight cancellations
The Ministry of Civil Aviation’s advisory states that passengers should be provided with timely flight information, food should be provided in case of delays, rebooking or refunds should be provided in case of flight cancellations, and boarding should not be denied despite timely check-in. Furthermore, baggage assistance and complaints should be promptly addressed.
118 Flights Cancelled on Tuesday
118 Flights Cancelled, 26 Trains Delayed Due to Fog Dense fog caused 118 flights to be cancelled at Delhi Airport on Tuesday. Additionally, 18 flights were diverted, while approximately 200 flights were delayed. The fog also affected trains. In North India, 26 trains were delayed and 36 were rescheduled.
128 Flights Cancelled on Monday
Similar conditions were observed on Monday. 128 flights were cancelled from Delhi Airport, including 64 departures and 64 arrivals. Nearly 200 flights were delayed, and 8 were diverted. Most of the flights were cancelled during the early morning and early morning hours. Due to fog, visibility in many areas was reduced to 50 meters.
