Pay Tax Online: Under the GIS (Geographic Information System) survey conducted by Dhamtari Municipal Corporation, the process of installing QR codes in 21 thousand houses of the city has started.
Pay Tax Online: As part of the GIS (Geographic Information System) survey conducted by the Dhamtari Municipal Corporation, the process of installing QR codes in 21,000 homes across the city has begun. QR codes have been installed in approximately 2,500 homes so far, while the remaining homes will be completed in a phased manner.
Corporation Deputy Commissioner PC Sarva stated that in the first phase, the drone survey data and in the second phase, the aerial survey data were physically verified on the ground by revenue and municipal staff. In the third phase, claims and objections will be invited from the public and after their resolution, everyone will be provided with an Urban Property Card for their properties.
All the data and properties collected will also be available online on the Naksha portal, which the public can access online from time to time as needed. He explained that the main objective of installing QR codes is to strengthen the property tax system, prevent fraudulent records, and ensure the correct identification of every property. This will also reveal which property is residential, which is commercial and how much tax liability is incurred where.
Pay Tax Online: This will benefit the corporation
This system will help the Municipal Corporation increase revenue, prevent tax evasion, and accurately plan projects. Data on the city’s roads, drains, water supply, and other utilities will also be integrated into GIS, enabling better management. Overall, this initiative by the Dhamtari Municipal Corporation lays a strong foundation for making the city a smart and digital city.
Learn about the QR Code System
During the GIS survey, digital data for every home and property is created. This data is being linked to a unique QR code. This QR code is being placed outside the relevant building, which, when scanned with a mobile phone, makes the complete information about that property available in the corporation’s records.
Citizens will benefit from these:
- Information on house tax, water tax, and other taxes will be readily available.
- The potential for arbitrariness and errors in tax assessment will be reduced.
- Identification of properties will be easier for complaints or corrections.
- In the future, online services will be available directly from the same QR code.
